Hi, I’m Vicki — therapist for endometriosis, relationships, and emotional wellbeing

I’m a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor working with adults in Bristol and online across the UK, specialising in the emotional, relational and identity challenges that often accompany endometriosis, fibroids, chronic menstrual health conditions and attachment patterns.

Many people I work with feel deeply misunderstood, either by the medical system, by partners or even by themselves. Chronic symptoms, repeated relationship patterns, anxiety or disconnection from your own needs can leave you feeling overwhelmed, tuning out parts of yourself, or stuck in cycles you can’t shift alone.

My Story

I know first hand what this feels like. I have lived with endometriosis and fibroids for over 25 years, and the emotional, relational and identity impact that comes with long waits for diagnosis, dismissive medical encounters and navigating intimacy, confidence and self-trust. I’ve been there. I know what it’s like to feel as though your body is betraying you and to question your worth when you’re treated like a medical case instead of a whole human.

Those experiences shaped why I became a therapist, and why I created Empowered Growth Counselling, to offer the kind of space I wish I’d had.  Somewhere you can exhale and breathe, feel understood and gently come home to yourself, where:

  • Where nothing is minimised
  • Where your emotional experience is valid
  • Where your pain and patterns are understood in the context of your life
  • Where healing unfolds at your pace, gently and respectfully

Why This Work Matters To Me

I know how exhausting it can be to feel like your experience isn’t taken seriously, by doctors, partners, colleagues or yourself. Feeling unheard can chip away at confidence, relationships and trust in your own body and intuition. That lived experience means I don’t just understand. I’ve felt it. And I’m committed to offering space where you can finally feel seen, supported, and genuinely understood.

You don’t need to explain away your pain or carry it alone. You don't have to pretend you're fine. You don't have to shrink to be taken seriously. This is a space where your story is recognised fully and healing can begin at your pace - gently, respectfully, with care.

My Approach

I believe therapy should feel like a warm exhale. Calm, grounded, and real. In our work together, you won’t be rushed, judged, or asked to hide parts of yourself.

In our sessions, we go at your pace. I’ll listen with curiosity, ask thoughtful questions, and hold space for your truth — gently and without judgement. My work is human, grounded, and relational. It’s not about fixing. It’s about reconnecting with yourself, with your body, your emotions, your worth, your voice, and your relationships.

You don’t need to perform or hide in therapy. You’re allowed to be you, and you’re allowed to feel. Come as you are and let therapy be a calm release. You’ll be met exactly where you are on the day, with no pressure. This work is not about fixing you. It’s about reconnecting you to yourself - your body, your emotions, your voice and your relationships - in a way that feels gentle, steady, respectful and human.

Why these specialisms?

I specialise in therapy for endometriosis, fibroids, and attachment wounds, because I've been there. I live with endometriosis and fibroids, and am childless not through choice. These experiences can deeply affect your body, your identity and your ability to feel safe in relationships. They're not just physical conditions or patterns. They carry invisible weight, such as shame, disconnection, grief, and fear of not being seen. I'm here to help you make sense of it all, unpack everything bit-by-bit, and feel a sense of relief.

Whether you’re navigating chronic health, dating struggles, people-pleasing, or anxious attachment, you deserve a space that holds all of it. My approach brings together body, heart and history, because real healing honours the whole of you.

My Credentials and Training

I hold a Level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Practice and draw on multiple approaches, including psychodynamic, person-centred and CBT frameworks. My training included placement with a specialist addiction agency, supporting adults in active addiction and recovery, which deepened my understanding of human resilience, complexity and relational impact.

I’m also a qualified hypnotherapist with experience supporting anxiety, pain management and disordered eating. I continue to develop my skills through ongoing professional training in areas such as:

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)
  • Working therpeutically with Dementia clients and carers
  • Trauma-informed and body-aware approaches
  • Supporting ADHD and neurodiversity
  • Women’s health and the under-representation of menstrual health in care systems

I am an Accredited Member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and uphold high standards of ethics, safety, and inclusive practice.
